NSF Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers

The National Science Foundation (NSF) Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers is the highest honor bestowed by the United States government on scientists and engineers beginning their independent careers. Consistent with its mission to support research in academic environments, each year the National Science Foundation selects nominees from among new faculty who have received NSF CAREER awards based on their potential for integrated contributions to education and research.

Professor Linda K. Weavers wins presidential award.

President George W. Bush has awarded an Ohio State University engineer the highest honor bestowed by the U.S. government on young researchers, the 2003 Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers (PECASE). The award honors Professor Linda K. Weavers, assistant professor of civil and environmental engineering and geodetic science, for her efforts to clean toxic agents from the environment and recruit women engineers for one of the fastest-growing disciplines today.
